πŸŽƒ Vegan Halloween: Bewitching Apples & Bloody Cups

Are you in Halloween mode? While the big day is a few weeks away, it is never too soon for scares that are good! Tantalize your senses with these 2 Hallow-scream treats. Both are vegan, gluten-free and require only a few ingredients to make. Enjoy them now, or present them to guests as fearful frights and tasty delights on Halloween night. Here is how to make them.

Bewitching Apples – Ingredients

  • 4 small Granny Smith apples
  • 1 cup mixed nuts: coconut shreds, Brazil nuts, hazelnuts and pecans
  • 2 cups dark chocolate chips

How to Make It

  1. Place the mixed nuts on plate. Set aside.
  2. Insert wooden craft sticks or real tree sticks into the cores of the apples at the stem.
  3. Place the chocolate into a metal or glass bowl and set over a pan of barely simmering water. Stir frequently until melted. (Or melt the chips in the microwave)
  4. Remove the bowl of melted chocolate from the stove or microwave.
  5. Dip apples into the melted chocolate, turning to coat completely.
  6. Dip or roll the apples in mixed nuts, then place on a sheet of waxed paper.
  7. Repeat with remaining apples. Allow apples to set at room temperature until the chocolate is firm, about 20 minutes, before serving.

Bloody Cups– Ingredients

  • 1 cup raspberries
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 2 cups dark chocolate chips

How to Make It

  1. Heat the raspberries in a small pot on medium-high heat until soft. Mash the raspberries until there are no large chunks. Add the maple syrup. Give it a mix and set aside to cool.
  2. In a double boiler or microwave, melt 1 cup of the chocolate. Meanwhile, place 8 muffin liners in a muffin pan.
  3. Place about 2 teaspoons of melted chocolate in the muffin liners and tilt them, so the chocolate spreads to the sides. Repeat for all the muffin liners and place them into the fridge for a few minutes (until the chocolate hardens).
  4. Melt 1 cup of chocolate chips in a double boiler or microwave. Meanwhile add about a teaspoon of the raspberry filling into the chocolate-coated muffin liners (place it in the middle). Once the chocolate has melted, pour it over the raspberry filling, covering to the top of the liner with chocolate.
  5. Let cups harden in the fridge for about 10 minutes.
  6. Once the chocolate is hard, carefully remove the cupcake liners and enjoy.

Simple and spooky! πŸ‘»
